Artist Statement

When I was a child, my secret wish was that someday someone would call me an artist and that it would be true. I've worked in diverse media, but nothing beats the elusive magic of watercolor. When colors collide and chase each other around that beautiful sheet of white paper -- when yellow turns pink to peach, and blue and brown become black, and even stranger colors emerge -- well, if you paint watercolor, you known what I mean.

I'm grateful for the artists I meet along the way who share ideas, inspire, advise and encourage. I paint, and I teach, but I am still learning -- and I am always so very excited to paint my next subject, whether it be a person, a flower, a puppy, a tree or an interesting clump of snow."
